California Unions Take Pay Protest to Movies
As movie theaters open with the movie 'The Expendables', which includes a cameo by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, state workers will protest outside the theaters. A spokesman for one union said that the Governor is making plans for when he leaves office, while asking unions to cut pay and benefits. On Monday a judge stopped furloughs for 150,000 state workers pending a final ruling. The Governor appealed the decision on Tuesday. Workers have started demonstrating, including at the premiere, and the title of the movie is giving them a lot to work with.
