California will require an hourly minimum wage for garment workers
Most garment workers in California are paid at a rate of 2-6 cents per piece. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the Senate Bill 62 on Monday that will require employers with 26 or more employees to pay a minimum wage of $14 per hour. Newsom said, “California is holding corporations accountable and recognizing the dignity and humanity of our workers.”
