Canada to force striking rail workers back to jobs
On Monday, Canada introduced legislation that would force rail workers back on to the job. Rail workers began a strike last Wednesday, after contract negotiations stalled. Talks continued over the weekend, but little progress was made. The two sides are stalled around pensions, work rules and fatigue issues. The government said that a prolonged strike would be too dmaaging to Canada's economy to allow it to continue.
