Candy workers strike at Union City licorice plant
Workers at American Licorice Company are on strike after contract negotiations between the Baker's Union and the company broke down. 178 workers voted to strike two weeks ago, and began picketing the company on Monday. The company says that it is hopeful that the dispute will be resolved. The union says that the talks broke down over health benefits and pension changes. The last strike at the company was in 1977.
