Caterpillar, Inc. plans to add nearly 2,500 more layoffs to the 22,000 that have been implemented since the worldwide economic crisis began undermining demand for the company's construction and mining vehicles late last year. Company officials have stated that there may be more layoffs to come if business conditions do not improve.
