Chicago teachers approve new contract 2 weeks after ending first walk-out in quarter century
On Wednesday, the Chicago Teachers Union announced that teachers had approved a three-year agreement with the city. The vote comes a few weeks after the teachers staged a seven-day strike in September. The contract includes raises, a decrease in the amount teacher evaluations are based on standardized tests and a longer school day. The contract still needs to be approved by the city to go into effect.
