Chicago Tribune Management Will Not Recognize Workers' Union
Chicago Tribune management announced on Wednesday that it will not recognize a newsroom employee labor union, despite overwhelming support from workers. In a letter to the union organizing committee, Editor-in-Chief Bruce Dold cited a lack of information as the reason for their decision. According to a twitter post from digital news editor Charlie Johnson, management made no effort to seek additional information after announcing their decision to not recognize the union, adding that the employees plan to file signature cards with the NLRB and petition for an election.
