Chiefs' pay in U.S. rose 27% in '05
The pay of chief executives in the United States continued to rise in 2005, although at a slightly slower pace than in 2004. Their average total pay rose 27 percent to $11.3 million, according to a survey of 200 large companies released over the weekend by Pearl Meyer & Partners. Next year may reveal even larger paydays, as rules to improve the disclosure of how, and how much, executives are paid take effect.
