Chile Collahuasi copper mine strike in fourth day
In the fourth day of a strike over pay and benefits, workers at Chile's Collahuasi mine disputed statements by the mine that production was normal. The union said that the mine was not operating a peak capacity, and that some parts of the mine were shut down due to the strike and an accident. The union represents 1,551 workers at the mine, which is the third largest copper mine in the world. Experts say that a strike of a week or more would most likely affect output, but many doubt the ability of the union to hold out. The mine says that it offer to the workers is a fair one.
