China: a Billion Strong but Short on Workers
Despite the large number of people in china, more jobs have been created in the service sector than in industrial jobs. Analysts predict that more people will be employed in those types of jobs than industrial ones for the first time this year. Growing competition for workers is forcing employers to raise wages, leading some companies to leave the country. For some workers, the choice is not about money, but about where they work and what they do, with service sector jobs sounding better.
