China grapples with child labor dilemma
China has recently stepped up enforcement of child labor laws due to criticism over labor abuses. Child labor is common in parts of rural China, as millions of migrant laborers leave the countryside to achieve greater prosperity in industrial areas. Factory managers say that they are being unfairly punished because many teens lie about their ages in order to get work.
