Chinese court blast ‘996’ work culture
The Chinese Supreme People’s Court has put companies overworking their employees on notice. They say that extreme overworking has been very prevalent, namely a '996' work culture where employees work from 9am to 9pm six days a week. This trend among the big tech companies, startups and other private businesses is a violation of the law. In the court’s statement, they said that workers deserve “rest and vacation.”
