Chinese factories hit by strikes amid manufacturing slowdown
Factory workers at a Chinese shoe factory struck last week after 18 managers were laid off. Workers at another factory manufacturing computer products also walked out and workers said that they were working overtime without pay. The workers were on strike for three days before the company gave in. The string of strikes in the manufacturing sector of China has drawn comparison to strikes in 2010 that led to raises for workers. Experts say that the slowdown of the Chinese economy and the poor management systems are causing the labor problems.
