Co-payments for many preventitive medical services for most workers are about to disappear
The Affordable Health Care Act is changing health care costs for some workers. The new law eliminates co-pays for preventative care screenings for things like diabetes, cancer and high cholesterol. The measure is part of an effort to reduce overall health care costs and encourage healthy behavior. However some, including companies that already cover preventive tests, say that workers do not take advantage of them anyways, and that the costs are not the issue. They say that for the measures to work people first need to care about their health.
