Coca - Cola Sued Over Turkish Labor Disput
A lawsuit has been filed against Coca-Cola alleging abuse and coercion of union organizers in Turkey. The lawsuit was filed by Terry Collingsworth, executive director of the International Labor Rights Fund, against the Atlanta soft drink maker, its Turkish bottler and other units on behalf of a group of former truck drivers, transport workers and their families. The complaint alleges that management arranged for Turkish police to gas and arrest workers and their families at a peaceful demonstration in July, to coerce them to quit organization efforts at Coke facilities.
