Collective bargaining agreement made at ammunition plant in Iowa prevents work stoppage
Every three years, contract negotiations occur at a large army ammunition plant in Iowa and in the past these labor talks have led to workers going on strike. The contract was recently re-negotiated and agreed upon by all ten of the unions that represent the various workers at the plant. Gains for workers included better pay and benefits such as increased vacation time. While there were threats of a work stoppage at the plant, the agreement prevented workers from going on strike, and the plant has continued to operate without interruption.
