Companies are using surveillance software to keep tabs on employees
The use of surveillance technology has become a trend for companies during the pandemic. Surveillance software, or ‘tattleware,’ like Sneek, Hubstaff, and ActivTrack report to companies their employee’s productivity and some even do things like take screenshots of their browsers, snap a picture of them working from a webcam., and count their keystrokes. One employee who quit over Sneek being used said “I signed up to manage their digital marketing, not to livestream my living room.” Experts say this trend shows no signs of slowing or stopping.
