Con Ed and Union Reach Contract Agreement
A dispute between Consolidated Edison and Local 1-2 of the Utility Workers of America ended in a tentative contract agreement on Thursday. With heavy storms headed for New York City, Governor Andrew Cuomo got involved Thursday morning, leading to the lockout-ending settlement later that day. While the union membership still needs to ratify the agreement, about 3,000 union workers will be on call during and after the storm.
