Conn. workers call for raising the minimum wage
Connecticut legislators are considering legislation that would raise the state's minimum wage. The bill would immediately raise wages, and would tie the minimum wage to inflation starting in 2014. Proponents of the bill say that raising the minimum wage will put more people above the poverty line, as well as increasing the amount of money in the economy. Opponents of the bill say that raising the minimum wage could discourage employers from hiring new workers. The wage increase would effect around 106,000 people.
