The Cape Codder resort in Massachusetts is currently undergoing renovations to become the Margaritaville Resort of Cape Cod. Renovations are being done by Remby Contractors LLC, and the company was accused of violating worker rights by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office. According to the Massachusetts Attorney General's office, the company paid workers below minimum wage, did not pay overtime wages, and did not track sick time accrual and usage. The company also allegedly classified workers as independent contractors. Remby Contractors LLC decided to settle, and the settlement requires the company to pay almost $300,000 to affected workers and an additional $70,000 in penalties to the state.
