Contract 'Blacklisting' Challenge Advances for Vote
The House floor may vote to repeal former President Obama's Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces executive order. The legislation currently requires federal contractors worth $500,000 or more to disclose information such as pay rates and overtime hours of employees, as well as any labor and employment violations. The disclosure requirements have been stalled since October by a federal judge in Texas. House Small Businesses Committee Steve Chabot opposes the legislation because he perceives it to be detrimental to job creation, while supporters see the executive order as a way to keep businesses responsible to acting ethically.
