Contract outlined in Hollywood writers strike
The Writers Guild came to an agreement with producers Saturday over the outline of a new contract. The final contract, which could be presented to the Guild board later in the week, resolves a number of the key issues that had kept the writers on strike for the last few months, including payment for residuals from work distributed digitally and over the internet. Negotiations between the two sides have improved steadily since the Directors Guild struck its own deal with producers.
