It is also expected that many salaried white-collar employees at Ford will face layoffs in the coming days. The layoffs are focused on the Ford Blue and Model E divisions in Detroit, Michigan. These contractor and employee cuts are a part of the Ford+ plan, which is focused on reducing costs and better aligning roles with the product and service priorities of the company. Ford is shifting resources away from these divisions and is focusing on the new development and investment in electric-powered vehicles.
