Cooper Tire Workers Back Pact
Workers at a Cooper Tire plant in Ohio have approved a new contract. Th agreement ends a three-month lockout by the company. The five-year deal increases hourly wages and the company's contributions to 401(k)s while allowing the company to buy out a certain number of older workers a year. The lockout cost the company about $11 million. The union has fled an unfair labor practice with the National Labor Relations Board over the lockout, but also says that they are happy to have reached a contract agreement.
