Cornell RAs strike for one day to protest inadequate safety measures, pay, communication
Cornell residential advisors began a strike on Wednesday to protest inadequate safety measures, lack of hazard pay, and lack of representation in decision-making that affects them. The RAs started a petition on various social media platforms, using a graphical slide deck, that earned 800+ supporters by day's end, which prompted the administration to meet with the organizers, who suspended the strike at 2pm Thursday. The strike was pivotal given that thousands of students are preparing to move into campus housing in the next few days, and residental advisors play a large part in a successful campus opening.
