Coronavirus outbreak may cause agricultural industry labor shortage
California’s agricultural industry is heavily reliant on foreign workers. Unfortunately, the offices that process H2-A visas are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak which may lead to a labor shortage that could threaten the supply of fresh produce. In just a few weeks it will be time to harvest strawberries and lettuce in Salinas Valley but there may not be enough workers to harvest these crops.
