CORRECTED-UPDATE 1-Canada?s CN Rail workers vote down second labor agreement
An agreement between Canada?s largest railroad company, Canada National Railway Co (CN Rail) and its union has been narrowly voted down by the union members. The agreement was reached about a month after the Conservative Canadian national government threatened to use back-to-work legislation to ensure that the railway kept running smoothly. The agreement was voted down by about 64% of voting members, although only about 1743 out of the 3,000 members took part in the vote. With the latest agreement rejected, the company will attempt to bring the dispute to binding arbitration in which each side?s final proposal will be considered as a package.
