Costco Workers Win Class Certification for Bias Case
A United States District Court judge has ruled that a group of Costco employees will be able to proceed in their gender bias case against the retailer. The judge certified the class, which consists of female employees employed since 2002 who have experienced gender disparities in promotions. The workers say that none of the explanations given by the company account for the disparity in the number of male and female managers. The judge set a tentative schedule for the suit, beginning with a jury trial to determine whether women were discriminated against.
