Council Rejects Pay Freeze; Owens Predicts Job Losses
The Anne Arundel County Council voted to reject the new budget of the county executive, which would freeze the salaries of county employees. County executive Owens now warns that approximately 35 people will lose their jobs, an action she hoped to prevent with the salary freeze. Labor leaders are looking at this as a victory, regardless of the possibility for job loss.
