Court allows Trump to end union bargaining for federal workers
A federal appeals court has allowed President Trump’s executive order to move forward, stripping collective bargaining rights from many federal workers. The order exempts over a dozen agencies—including Justice, Defense, and Treasury—from having to negotiate with unions. A lower court had previously blocked the order, citing First Amendment concerns, but the 9th Circuit ruled the order did not show retaliatory intent. Labor unions call the decision a major blow to federal workers' rights and say they plan to continue fighting it in court.
