Court awards back pay for furloughs to some California state workers
A California court ruled on Thursday that some state engineers and scientists are owed back wages after being furloughed last year. The judge found that the furloughs for around 13,000 workers were excessive, making them eligible for around $10.5 million in back pay. The state administration said that they were reviewing the decision and would likely appeal.
