Covid outbreak causes workers at an iPhone factory in China leave facility to protect their health
At an iPhone assembly factory in China, it has been reported that workers have fled the facility amidst a large-scale Covid outbreak. This interruption to production is an issue for Foxconn, a supplier of iPhones to Apple, as the holiday season approaches, and it demonstrates the implications that China's zero-Covid policy has on international business. In an effort to bring workers back into the factory and meet production quotas, Foxconn has offered quadruple bonuses for those who work this month. Apple also has production occurring in other countries, including India, so it is hoped that this disruption will not be disastrous and will be resolved within a couple weeks.
