Creating LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Workplaces In India
In the past decade, legal rulings in India have extended workplace protections to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees in the public sector. However, no workplace protections have been put forth toward employees in the private sector. Workplace harassment is harmful to both individuals and India’s economy. Recent efforts in Parliament to outlaw discrimination in the private sector have been unsuccessful, but are proving to be a positive first step toward creating LGBT inclusive workplaces in India.
