Crystal workers rally, hope growers will join them
Locked out workers of American Crystal Sugar held a meeting over the weekend, one that they had asked the company to attend. The workers have been locked out by the company for over a year, after voting down proposed agreements. Workers say that some growers who are members of the company did attend the meeting, and that more of them are on the workers' side than when the lockout began. The company is running its plants using temporary replacement workers.
