The Communications Workers of America and 32BJ SEIU withdrew their affiliation with the Working Family’s Party this week, signaling their support for Governor Cuomo over his progressive rival and gubernatorial nominee of the WFP, Cynthia Nixon. Nixon is a former actress on Sex and the City and prominent LGBT rights advocate. The CWA and 32BJ said in a joint statement that supporting Gov. Cuomo is the most effective way to promote the interests and concerns of workers. A recent poll released by Marist and NBC 4 New York showed that Cuomo continues to dominate the polls with a 41-point lead over Nixon.
