CUPE teachers to strike again as the resumption in labor negotiations with Ontario government failed to result in an agreement
Despite negotiations recently resuming between the Ontario government and teachers union (CUPE) and multiple offers to add funding to the education sector, CUPE has filed another strike notice. The union claims that this labor action is a result of the government not being willing to invest in the necessary services to support students. While CUPE recognizes the benefits of the wage increase offered by the government, the union states that it is not enough to address the larger issues Canadian public education is facing, such as guaranteed staffing levels.
