Cuts in Funds Wear on Pickets
As the strike between UFCW members and several major grocery stores in Southern and Central California enters its fourth month, a cut in strike funds and expired health benefits are thinning out picket lines. These hardships have forced increasing numbers of striking and locked-out workers to look for other jobs. As picketing becomes reduced, more shoppers are returning to the grocery stores.
