CVS Health announces corporate layoffs
CVS Health has announced upcoming layoffs that will affect around three thousand corporate employees and will reduce the total CVS workforce by one percent. CVS Health stated that the job cuts are a part of the company’s plan to reduce operating costs, and the company is also closing a majority of posted job openings. The layoffs will not affect frontline employees at CVS stores or workers at distribution centers. The company also stated that the worker reductions are due to changes in customer needs, market disruptions, and changes in regulations. Affected workers will receive severance pay and benefits. CVS Health also conducted layoffs affecting non-frontline workers in 2023, and that round of layoffs cut five thousand workers. The reason for those layoffs was also due to evolving customer needs and expectations.
