Czech unions gear up for biggest protest as government teeters
Thousands of Czech workers are planning to protest on Saturday against austerity measures. Over two dozen unions and other groups have planned a rally in Prague, the third such protest in the last year. The protesters say that budget cuts and tax hikes are hurting the people they should protect. The rally comes as the coalition government is losing popularity and possibly its majority in Parliament. The government says the reforms have helped the economy, and were necessary.
