DaimlerChrysler workers protest hours
Over 30,000 DaimlerChrysler employees in Germany took part in work stoppages at two Mercedes Unit plants to protest plans by the company to increase the current 35 hour workweek. The company and its employees have been discussing various cost saving measures. The company is now threatening job cuts and production shifts to other plants in Germany and abroad if employees continue to oppose deeper cost cuts.
