Day labor: investors' new dilemma?
Socially responsible investors have made a point of avoiding dealings with firms that do not meet adequate labor standards overseas. However, the plight of day laborers, unskilled workers in the U.S. who work for little pay and no benefits, have gone largely unnoticed by this group. Part of the problem is that the scope of day labor is unknown and tracking such labor is often difficult.
