Decision looms in case of Chinese workers at B.C. coal mine
Canadian labor groups are hoping that a legal case now in the final round of judicial review will lead to changes in how temporary workers are allowed into Canada. The case charges that Canadian workers were displaced when foreign workers were hired, against Canadian law. The company says that they were unable to find qualified workers in the country. If the judge rules that Canadian workers were displaced, the entire program could be effected.
