Delta Airlines employees held a union-organizing rally at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport
Over 100 Delta Airlines workers gathered for a rally at the Minneapolis-St.Paul Airport in support of unionization. Delta is the only major United States airline to not have unionized flight attendants, mechanics, and fleet service workers. The Delta employees that are in unions are Delta pilots and flight dispatchers, and pilots recently reached an agreement with the airline that increased pay over the coming years. Three unions would represent various Delta workers if unionization is successful, and employees are hoping all Delta unions would coordinate efforts to increase pay and worker benefits in the future. The airline states that it supports employees’ rights to form a union, but it believes that Delta’s direct connection with employees is faster and more effective in creating adjustments to meet employee needs.
