Delta ticket and gate agents reject union
Delta ticket and gate agents rejected representation by the International Association of Machinists in the ninth vote on union representation since the Delta-Northwest merger. The vote was 3,638 to 8,746. Delta says that this another show of the fact that their employees are happy the way things are. The Machinists say that they will present evidence that Delta interfered in earlier elections for baggage handlers and TechOps Stores workers, and that it will file interference charges in this election as well. The Association of Flight Attendants has also filed charges against Delta in the election that they lost to represent the flight attendants. Delta has until late December to respond to those charges.
