Democrats Set Sights on Blocking Trump’s Labor Secretary Pick
Democrats will attempt to delegitimize President Trump's labor secretary nomination tomorrow when fast-food executive Andrew F. Puzder testifies before the Senate. Ahead of tomorrow's hearing, four Republican senators have announced that they are withholding support of Puzder's nomination. Combined with a united Democratic party, the four Republicans would be enough to block President Trump's pick for labor secretary. Senators are likely to press the nominee on personal issues such as allegations that he physically abused his ex-wife. Additionally, Puzder's stance on suppressing wages and his hiring of an undocumented maid are also expected to surface during his testimony tomorrow.
