Department of Labor Updates Tool to Check Health Plans for Mental Health Disparity
The U.S. Department of Labor has updated a tool that can help check health plans for compliance with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) and related requirements under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). The updated tool includes best practices, revised examples of compliance and warning signs of non-compliance. This is a critical update as many companies are adding mental health services to their benefits packages as a result of the increased stress of the pandemic.
