'Desk rage' builds to a boiling point
Increased workloads, longer hours and concerns over job security have led to workplace stress. Evidence of this stress can be seen in behavior that some have called 'desk rage' including yelling, verbal abuse, and in some cases destruction of company property. Employee stress is bad for companies because it causes lower productivity and higher turnover rates. Human Resource experts say that managers should be trained to handle conflicts and employees should not be given more work than they can reasonably complete.
