Desperate Kenyan Maids Abused in Middle East Despite Ban
Hundreds of thousands of Kenyans used to leave their country to work in the Middle East, excited at the prospect of making enough money to send home to their families. However last September, Kenyan citizens were banned from going to work in the Middle East after reports surfaced that workers were abused. Even still, many Kenyans have found other ways to travel to the Middle East. Approximately only 6.25 percent of Kenyans entering the job market are able to obtain employment in their own country.
