Despite bargaining deadline rapidly approaching, labor relations between NBA and Players' Union remain amicable
The relationship between the NBA and its Players' Union has historically been marked by ups and downs, but in recent years these labor relations have been amicable. However, negotiations surrounding age limits for players entering the league and the luxury tax system may potentially place strains on this relationship. The deadline to opt out of the current labor agreement looms at the end of the week, and if a deal is not made by then, it will increase pressure and urgency on the negotiations. Throughout the process of these negotiations though, contrast to many other labor fights between companies and unions recently, the relationship between the players and owners has remained relatively friendly.
