Despite recent setbacks to unionization attempts at Amazon, workers continue to strike and organize union votes
Tensions have been high recently regarding unionization at Amazon as the company has been successful in preventing many organizing attempts. However, despite the setback with the union rejection at the Albany, NY, Amazon workers at warehouses across the country are continuing to plan union elections and strikes. Employees have expressed inadequate benefits, accommodations, and safety protections in addition to low wages that do not cover their costs of living. Additionally, there have been accounts that the company is harshly, and in some alleged instances unfairly, suppressing union activity. As a result, the unionization movement at Amazon has not lost its momentum.
